Training plans/Sprint
Self-guided race preparation
Sprint
Sprint racing is short enough that wasted training shows quickly. This 22-week family is for athletes who want a clear swim, bike and run progression for 750m, 20km and 5km without turning a short-course goal into a full-distance training load.
Who this plan is for
Start with structure, not extra volume
Choose Sprint when the target is a first triathlon, a return to short-course racing, or a faster Sprint built around a manageable weekly load. Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced are separate collections, so the starting point can match your experience rather than forcing every athlete through the same build.
The standard build runs for 22 weeks. Each level's TrainingPeaks collection also contains a 15-week time-crunched version, so Sprint is the one family where standard and compressed plans are selected from the same collection rather than from separate links.
Training load
Entry → Consolidation → Attack- 01Test under normal training fatigue, not after a rest
- 02Progressive load through entry, consolidation and attack
- 03A short taper that keeps race-specific work present
Select your plan
Choose your level
Choose the standard build or a 15-week time-crunched option. Both follow the same training principles; the time-crunched build concentrates the work into fewer hours each week.
Beginner
For your first race at this distance or your first structured build.

What the structure protects
01Swim, bike, run and strength developed as one programme
02Race execution rehearsed before race week
03Clear progression instead of disconnected hard sessions
